The Heart of the Show

Conceived, written, and directed by Dominique and Loïse Martens, “Cygnes des Temps” retraces 1,600 years of history of the town of Péronne and its region. Since its origins around 400 AD on the Mont des Cygnes, the show follows the narrative thread of the famous writer Pierre Mac Orlan, born in Péronne and wounded during the First World War just two kilometers from his hometown. This journey through time is presented within the exceptional historical setting of the Porte de Bretagne.

A Constantly Evolving Show

Since its creation in 2019, the sound and light show has continued to grow and evolve. Year after year, it matures and gains intensity to offer the audience an increasingly captivating experience. Today, thanks to the unwavering commitment of dozens of passionate volunteers, the show reaches a new level:

  • An increasingly rhythmic and precise production.
  • High-quality costumes, meticulously designed by a dedicated team of seamstresses.
  • Spectacular sets and props that enhance each scene.
  • A technical team trained in the latest lighting technology.
  • Choreographies, actors, and riders fully committed to their roles.

Spotlight on the 2026 Edition : Between Splendor and Misery

Once again this year, the show is enhanced with new scripts, music, and pyrotechnic effects. We will focus specifically on the 17th century with a grand evocation of Louis XIV visiting Péronne. A vibrant, lively, and colorful scene featuring the spectacular participation of riders and dancers.

However, this century was also a dark period for the people of Picardy. Famine, plague, and war took their toll. A striking contrast in atmosphere, lighting, and music emerges between these two worlds, leading up to a finale that holds an impressive surprise, a true artistic and technical feat.

Loïse Martens, Stage Director

Artistic Director and Stage Director for large-scale productions, Loïse Martens joined the team in 2022 before taking full artistic direction in 2025. Creativity runs in her blood: her childhood was immersed in the creations of her parents, Dominique and Loïse.

From winters spent playing among bolts of fabric while hands were busy creating costumes, to summers spent to the rhythm of rehearsals, she grew up in this magical nighttime world, between stage management and the wings. Today, it is with that same passion that she envisions and evolves the shows, directing hundreds of volunteers to create moments of shared emotion.

Her other major productions:

  • Le Souffle de la Terre (Ailly-sur-Noye)
  • Juliette et les Misérables (Montreuil-sur-Mer)
  • Légendes (Coucy-le-Château)
  • François Premier (Crèvecœur-le-Grand)
  • Salut la troupe ! (Villers-Bretonneux)
