It speaks of the past, evokes the present, and protects the future.»
André Malraux
In Our Volunteers’ Words
“Cygnes des temps… A special interlude in my life during rehearsals and the show! […]
Making the audience forget everything for an evening, the volunteers and extras during rehearsals and performances, and other volunteers throughout the year. […]
A show that makes us proud-proud to be here, to participate, each in our assigned role, from the pauper to the king, from the handyman to the sound and light specialists, from the announcer to the presenter, from the court jester to the dancer, and of course, from our wonderful seamstresses to our dressers!
The feeling of having worked to allow everyone to find a small moment of Happiness, so different from everyday life.
The joy of reuniting with our team every night: stress, emotions, worries, laughter and fits of giggles, and the ultimate drive to get it right.
The energy that you don’t have to look for, but that flows through us spontaneously.”
Maryse, volunteer since 2019.

-
Transmission: We encourage the sharing of expertise between experts and beginners to ensure the longevity of traditional crafts and stage professions.
-
A Passion for Heritage: We work together to bring the history of Péronne to life through a collective and generous creative endeavor.
Choose Your Area of Activity
Administration and finance
This department manages the general secretariat for the board. It is also responsible for seeking partners (sponsors and patrons) to help fund the production.
Costumes
This department is made up of a team of seamstresses whose tasks are highly varied: sewing on buttons, repairing hems, mending, and the creation and tailoring of the various costumes used during the show. From absolute beginners to experts, all skill levels work side-by-side within this team of “nimble fingers” that meets in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Props
Throughout the year, the props team repairs, modifies, envisions, and creates all the sets and props used during the sound and light show. They work with cardboard, iron, wood, plastic, paint…
Technical
The magic of sound and light relies on the technical team, which ensures the setup of electrical and technical installations throughout the entire performance site: from the wings to the stage, including the grandstands and all public reception areas.
Safety and Security
The department ensures that every measure is taken to guarantee the safety of volunteers and the audience throughout rehearsals and the show. From managing vehicle parking on performance nights to coordinating with authorities in the event of fire. Potential risks related to the use of hazardous equipment are identified, and all preventive measures are put in place to ensure that preparations and performances run smoothly. Depending on the tasks assigned, volunteers may receive training throughout the year.
Communications
The “Cygnes des Temps” production is constantly seeking to raise its profile and attract new audiences. Every year, a communications plan is developed, and a team of volunteers is responsible for managing social media and distributing flyers and posters in various locations (fairs, markets, local businesses, etc.).
Sales
Outreach efforts are conducted to offer ticket sales to corporate groups and associations. Group bookings represent a significant portion of our audience.
